UPDATE: As I mentioned above, I was unable to turn on LAN Control on my Yeelight Color Bulbs (yeelink.light.color3) from my Android Yeelight app.

Couple of weeks ago I switched to iPhone, downloaded the Yeelight app from App Store and who would guess, LAN Control for yeelink.light.colo3 is there, available and working fine !!!

So “security reasons” my ass. This is clearly a bug and/or ignorant behavior of the service provider towards it’s customers.

Again - selling smart-home devices and literally blocking it’s smart functionality should be considered a fraud.

color3 was never blocked firmware side. they just removed option in app to enable/disable lan control, but you could still turn it on with old app or miio cmd.

however many mi/mijia branded products got firmware updates in last few months which block lan mode firmware side. no app can help here.

for a short time they offered whitelist with firmware which kept lan mode open, but this option is gone now so posting here asking for whitelist is kinda useless.

Hello folks,
finally found a smart bedside lamp that fits my requirements, so I just purchased two mi bedside lamp 2. After some investigation I learned that the Lan Control was recently disabled which makes the lamps useless for my setup.

Question to the users that recently (e.g. past 4 weeks) requested to being added to the whitelist: did it fixed it for you?
Or has anybody found another “soft” solution (without soldering etc) to get access via local network?

My lamp has the firmware 2.0.6_0030 (which was the latest for Europe). Now that I changed to Mainland China the app offers me to update to 2.1.7_0041.
Is this update recommended or is there an alternate firmware to reenable Lan Control?
