I thought this was just a regular bluetooth accessory which could be added to the Mi gateway 3 that would handle the status changes of this remote. And it would work as a dimmer switch for any MI home registered light.
I am still hoping that this will be implemented (please!). I have different smart lights and bulbs and I have not a find a good dimmer switch to control them (it’s OK from the app but not the greatest), which would be very nice to have.
Hello. I want to know if I can use the Yeelight Wall Switch Dimmer as a normal dimmer with non-smart bulbs. If yes, can I control the bulbs on/off state or dim state with the phone?
I haven’t seen anyone doing that on the internet. All I know is that this switch works with Yeelight Ceilings lights etc.
Yes, because ceiling lights have BLE, bulbs don’t. So you can’t use it.

The iOS Yeelight app does not know the Yeelight Wireless Smart Dimmer switch and can not do many things that the Xiaomi Home app can.
If I groupped two Crystal Pendant lights they loose some of the features they can do in as a solo light, like controlling the main and ambient like individually. There are lots of loose threads in the app, so it does not cover the most basics things, like controlling multiple lights with one switch or using two switches to control one or more lights. It is like the whole smart lighting system of Yeelight is unfinished, mainly at the software side. There are lots of uncompatible products in your range.
