Yeelight Color 2 Set Up Problems

Hi,

I bought a Yeelight color 2 (Model No: YLDP06YL) from amazon.it (italian) and i’m having trouble setting it up. The bulb is E27 and rated for 220-240V and it lights up and creates it’s own wifi network so it has not problem with power or the wifi module. when i try to connect to it trought the yeelight app, most of the times (i’m talking like 15-20 times now) i get a connection timed out error and i have to reset the bulb (turning it on and off 5 times until it goes rainbow mode) and try again, in some rare occasions (like 3-4 times now) it says “connected” but the bulb doesn’t show up in my router, and when i refresh the yeelight devices list it appears to be offline so i just have to reset it again. I have tried connecting it trough the mi home app but none of the server supports yeelight color v2, i tried with the yeelight color v1 option but it didn’t find anything, and even the more general “devices nearby” option didn’t find it. i have tried switching servers in the yeelight app but it didn’t change anything. i have even tried disabling my wifi’s 5GHz option so the bulb would have been forced to connect to the 2.4GHz but it made absolutely no difference. I tried all of this from a Galaxy s9+ (G965F) running android 9 pie, and also from a galaxy s4 (I9515) running a custom android 7.1.2 rom and got the same exact results on both. Any idea how to get this working before i send it back to amazon? Cause i’ve been fighting with this thing for the last 3 hours and it has been very frustrating lmao

Can you try to set up google dns in your router and try again.
reinstall the yeelight app and then login, in German server.

i have tried to do that but i don’t think there’s a way to do it in my router

Which server do you selected in Yeelight application, you can have a try with other servers. And there’s a case that when the connection timeout, but the bulb already connected to the cloud. So when this happens, please try to go back to device list to refresh.

So, I’ve just tried every server, they all gave me the timeout error, and refreshing the bulb didn’t appear in the list, except for singapore, that gave me that same connected error but then it says it’s off, the bulb doesn’t show up in the router, and refreshing the app it says it’s offline, after resetting the bulb it gave me the same timed out error. And weirdly enough, Russia connects EVERY TIME. And 3 out of 4 times after connecting for the first time it said the bulb was on, 1 out of 4 it said it was off like every other time i get the “connected” message but it doesn’t work, still the bulb didn’t show up in the router and clicking the on/off button or changing color/white temperature does absolutely nothing.

Actually, now i refreshed the app and it says the bulb is offline even in russia server, the only one that showed it on. Any help that doesn’t involve changing my dns? That would require me to change my modem, and i won’t do that unless I’m absolutely 100% sure it will make the bulb work

1、Please swipe card left to delete offline device first.
2、If the bulb can’t connected to your router, it won’t work. So please double check if the bulb connected to your router(Check DHCP list) when connection timeout.
3、Seems Russia server is good for you, please try again with it.

I do that every time i reset the bulb and try to connect to it again.

If you mean the devices list, it doesn’t show up, if you mean something else, i have no clue how to get to there, my router doesnt allow me to do almost anything (that’s why I can’t change my dns)

I woke up to a yeelight application update, so i have tried connecting again after updating it, and for some reason the bulb actually turned off when i clicked the button next to the device in the app, and it turned back in when i clicked it again, after that it stopped working like every other time and shortly after it was offline. Tried again and the first couple of times it gave me a timed out error (which i never got on russia server before) then it connected again and did the same thing where it wouldn’t work and then become offline after refreshing the app. In none of those occasions the device showed up in my router’s connected devices list.

I have figuted out how to get the log from my router, so i’m attaching it to this reply, I think my router gives the bulb ip 192.168.1.169, so if there’s any port i can open tell me and I’ll open it on that ip. The bulb is 04:cf:8c:97:08:db. What happened in the log is, i connected 3 times. First time it was timed out, second time it connected but didn’t work at all and then went offline, third time it connected, and i was able to turn to light off, on and off again trought the app before it stopped working and the bulb went offline after refreshing the app. Hope this helps at least a little since we have every scenario happening in a single log
