Hi everyone,
I’m having a really frustrating issue with my Yeelight Ceiling Lamp and I’m hoping someone here can help.
The problem:
- The lamp was working fine for a long time, then suddenly disappeared from the app.
- I tried to reconnect it, but I always get a “timeout” error at the very end of the setup process (after entering Wi-Fi credentials, when it tries to complete the configuration).
- However, the lamp does connect to Wi-Fi – I can ping it from my phone and it gets an IP address. It just won’t finalize the setup in the app.
What I’ve already tried (multiple times):
- Reset the lamp (5 times on/off, also tried different timing).
- Full power cycle (left lamp unscrewed for over an hour).
- Rebooted router several times (also left it off for 10+ minutes).
- Tried both Yeelight app and Mi Home app .
- Switched regions in the apps: China , Russia , Europe – nothing works.
- Set a static IP for the lamp in my router (DHCP reservation).
- Tried connecting through a mobile hotspot (2.4 GHz only) to rule out router issues.
- Checked Wi-Fi settings: network is 2.4 GHz, WPA2 (no WPA3), no MAC filtering.
- Tried the “special” service accounts (like
lixin@yeelink.net) – none of the passwords I found work anymore. - Another Yeelight lamp in the same room works perfectly with the same setup.
What else could it be?
- Could this be a firmware corruption issue?
- Is there a way to force a firmware update without connecting to the app?
- Any hidden router settings (DTIM, Beacon interval, etc.) that might affect this specific lamp?
I’m running out of ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
Feel free to adjust any details if I missed something. Good luck – I hope the forum can help!
