Yeelight LED Bulb - cannot connect to

hello,

a few months ago i got my Yeelight LED Bulb as a present, back then i could not connect to it with my galaxy s6 edge, my boyfriend could and shared it with me.

After my phone didn’t work anymore I got a new one (also galaxy s6 edge), i could not connect to my Yeelight LED Bulb, too.
My boyfriend could and tried to share it with me, it still didn’t appear in my app. I changed the server several times (Germany, Singapore, China and USA), it didn’t help.

I have no clue why I cannot connect to it…

Please make sure you select the same server with your friend. And in the slide menu, there is a message center to accept the share.

yes, it didn’t appear in the message center, too. but we’ll try this again in a few days.

but why can I not connect to my Yeelight on my own? it can’t be right that my boyfriend have to share it with me everytime i want to connect to a new Yeelight.

For the connection issue, you can check by the following steps to see where the problem is:

1）Reset the lamp by power on and off fives times in a row, and then see if there’s AP named like “yeelink-light-***” in your phone’s wifi list? If yes, go to see Step 2; If no, it means there’s something wrong with the wifi module of your lamp;

2）In Yeelight/MiHome application, add the lamp you want to connect. Make sure there’s no special character of your router’s password. If the connection successes, congratulations, if not, go to Step 3;

3）See if the lamp in your router’s DHCP list, if yes, it means there’s something wrong with connection between your router and Mi cloud. Please have a check with your ISP if it blocks some domain of xiaomi. If there’s not the lamp in your router’s DHCP list, it means, the lamp has problems to connect to your router. So please have a check if your router block the lamp or your router has connected as more devices as it can connect.

So please have a check that which step do you stuck?

If your friend can find the AP name in his phone, I think there must be something wrong configuration with your phone. :wink:

my boyfriend could connect to my lamp easily and also could share it to me now without any problems!
