Connection timed out

I just bought Yeelight LED Bulb Color and when I try to connect it to my phone it always show connection timed out. already set to Mainland China for locale. and I’ve read another post saying could be blocked by ISP but one of my friend using the same ISP and modem could connect with the bulb fine. tried using Yeelight App and Mi Home

Could you check if the bulb is present on your router’s DHCP list? If yes, could you ping “ot.io.mi.com”?

I tried to move it to other room and at first it won’t connect but after few times resetting the bulb it works. then I tried to move it to my room it won’t connect again showing connection time out when re-pairing.
the bulb is not present on DHCP list

The signal strength may be weak in your room, please try to move the router a bit and see if it helps.

I’m using a wifi extender for my room because the main router is on the 1st floor. the signal strength is full where my phone and 2 other tablets are working fine. thank you for responding

It may related to the WiFi extender… Could you check log on it?

restarting the wifi extender for a few minutes solved the problem… thanks
