Can the bulb be used over data connection 3G/4G

Hi,

Can the bulbs be turned on/off via the app over data connection ie not on the WiFi they are connected to.

Eg. Could I turn a light on/off via the app in a different geographical location.

Yes you can, I tried it and it works.
